Mother and daughter accused of sex trafficking to appear in Alexandria court

More details have been released on a mother and daughter arrested last month for allegedly running a sex trafficking operation in Alexandria and Fairfax County.

The 21-year-old and 51-year-old women who live in Fairfax County have been held without bond since their arrest on May 4. On Feb. 6, 2025, Virginia State Police received an anonymous tip of a suspected illicit massage business, and provided multiple addresses and phone numbers, according to a recently released search warrant affidavit. About 11 months later, in January 2026, VSP created a fake phone number and made an appointment for $70.

“I don’t wanna bs anyone,” the undercover officer texted, according to the affidavit. “It’s been a longgg week and I’m not tryna mess around. I got plenty of money to tip, but is she going to take care of my other needs?”

The undercover officer was then texted, “Yes, you talk about that on your date with Miss.”

Police found that the services were offered out of two apartment buildings in the 5900 block of Ashlar Way near the city border in Huntington and an apartment building in the 900 block of N. Van Dorn Street in the city’s West End.

The Alexandria Police Department conducted surveillance of the apartment building on N. Van Dorn Street throughout February. The investigating APD officer “observed on multiple occasions foot traffic coming in and out of the target apartment that was consistent with prostitution in his training and experience,” according to the affidavit.

“Such activity would consist of a variety of male subjects, during all hours of the day and night, walking up to the apartment building with their phones in their hands as though they were waiting for a call or a text,” APD said in the affidavit, adding that the men would be let into the building. “After a short time period, spanning between 15-45 minutes on average, the male subjects would then exit from the apartment, go back to their vehicles in the parking lot, and drive away from the scene.”

An investigating state police officer found that massage service rates at the business ranged from $60 to $180, and the hours of operation were 6 a.m. to 2 a.m., according to the affidavit. Police also observed alleged hand-to-hand money exchanges, where men would pay the 51-year-old suspect, who was waiting in the parking lot in a red Camry with an idling engine and blinking hazard lights.

On May 4, the Alexandria Police Department’s Vice Narcotics Unit “recovered evidence consistent with commercial sexual activity and shut the operation down.”

The suspects have a preliminary hearing on June 30.
