Adoptable Pet of the Week: Diesel, a dog ‘full of love and curiosity’

Meet Diesel, a sweet, wrinkly-faced pup at the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria who is ready to go home for the holidays with fur-ever humans.

The three-year-old cutie patootie is about 89 pounds, “with a heart to match his impressive physical presence,” according to an AWLA volunteer. The social pup is “full of love and curiosity.”

“Diesel is crossing his paws in hopes of January snow days so that he gets more time to hang out with his favorite humans,” the volunteer wrote. “Since Diesel is still a young adult dog, he would benefit from regular positive reinforcement training with lots of tasty treats.”

Diesel is looking for a home where he’ll get plenty of exercise and time outside — preferably with squeaky toys.

“Contact the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria to meet Diesel and bring him home to make memories together throughout the festive season!”

AWLA adoption fees for dogs and cats over six months old are being waived through Wednesday, Dec. 31.

Diesel can be visited during the shelter’s regular adoption hours.
