Historic Lighthouse Repairs Coming Next Year — “A 2014 NPS report describes the exterior of the [Jones Point] lighthouse as in ‘good condition’ with restoration needed for the interior … Thirteen years later, no additional major restoration projects have been undertaken at the site, according to Jerry Garcia, NPS chief of staff for the George Washington Memorial Parkway. However, help will soon be coming for the winded structure. Garcia explained that a comprehensive repair project with a ‘majority focus’ on the exterior of the lighthouse building will begin in 2026.” [The Alexandria Times]
