Four people are in stable condition after a shooting in Alexandria’s Arlandria neighborhood early Monday morning.
The Alexandria Police Department is looking into the incident, which happened in the 3800 block of Florence Drive. Three men and one woman were shot.
Police first mentioned the incident at 4:37 a.m., initially saying two men had been taken to the hospital. By 7:40 a.m., they updated that four people were getting medical care, all in stable condition.
“We’re investigating a shooting that occurred in the 3800 block of Florence Drive. There’s a heavy police presence, so please avoid the area while we continue our investigation,” the department said in an email.
According to police, preliminary information indicates the shooting may have stemmed from a dispute earlier in the evening

Injured Man in Florence Drive Shooting Faces Multiple ChargesThis morning, at approximately 3:48 a.m., the Alexandria Police Department (APD) responded to reports of a man being shot outside an apartment complex in the 3800 block of Florence Drive. Upon arrival, officers located two adult males suffering from gunshot wounds. Both individuals were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.Shortly thereafter, APD was notified that two additional individuals—an adult male and an adult female—had arrived at Fairfax Hospital each with a gunshot wound. All four individuals are believed to have sustained injuries during the same incident and remain hospitalized in stable condition.The investigation’s preliminary findings indicate that this incident’s origin is not directly related to the City of Alexandria. It appears to have begun with a dispute involving a woman at a location in Woodbridge, Virginia.
