Alexandria Realtors The Goodhart Group has raised nearly $14,000 for local restaurants in a GoFundMe campaign, and each $15 meal goes to Inova Alexandria Hospital.
The Goodhart Group raised $13,925, exceeding its goal of $13,500.
“We were actually inspired by some other company agents we know in Brooklyn, New York,” DuShuttle said. “We started this GoFundMe page in order to provide, meals to frontline health care workers at Inova Alexandria Hospital to just thank them for everything they’re doing here in the community during this crazy time.”
Each week, the Goodhart Group features a new restaurant, starting off with meals from Mason Social on April 7, followed by Sweet Fire Donna’s, Mia’s Italian Kitchen and Osteria Marzano. Each restaurant delivers $100 means per week, and each meal costs $15.
“The goal was to do 100 meals per week through the end of the June 10 stay at home order,” DuShuttle said. “So, we’ve exceeded our goal and will either increase the number of meals per week or just keep going with it.”
As far as the local real estate market goes, DuShuttle said that April and May are usually the busiest period in Alexandria. Open houses are still happening, but have mostly been eliminated.
“Obviously I don’t think that will be the case in 2020,” she said. “Everyone’s making sure that we’re really only letting pre-approved, well-qualified buyers into properties. People are doing a lot of virtual showing before doing an actual physical walkthrough.”
DuShuttle added, “It’s actually probably a pretty good time to buy at the moment because interest rates are still really low, and there’s less competition right now. So, there are a lot of people who do need to buy and do need to sell and we’re seeing buyers get some good deals.”

Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!
