The Alexandria Police Department confirmed two men in their car at the intersection of N. Fayette and Wythe Streets were shot in their car just before 2 a.m.

Witnesses told police they heard what sounded like automatic gunfire, according to the police scanner.

Both victims were taken to hospitals but police said there is no additional information on their conditions.

The shooting occurred at nearly the same spot adjacent to the Andrew Adkins development as the fatal shooting of Alexandria resident Kwakia Frazier last week. Two others were also injured in the shooting, with one 46-year-old resident transported to the hospital and a 15-year-old boy grazed by a bullet.
