Update 9/20 — One of the victims, 25-year-old Alexandria resident Kwakia Frazier, has died. Police also said a third person, a 15-year-old boy, was grazed by a bullet and received medical treatment at the scene.

The Alexandria Police Department (APD) is responding to a shooting in the Braddock neighborhood.

The shooting occurred around 8:14 p.m. at 1221 Wythe Street.

APD Communications Manager Tracy Walker said there were two adult men who suffered gunshot wounds and were transported to hospitals. One remains in critical conditions.

Scanner traffic indicated there was a significant crowd gathered at the scene of the shooting. Since then, the 1300 block of Wythe Street has been locked down. Police are currently collecting evidence.

The Andrew Adkins neighborhood was briefly locked down by police after the shooting. Several blocks of Wythe Street east of the Braddock Road Metro station were still closed as of 10:15 p.m.
