Car crashes into Inova Alexandria Hospital and damages entrance

A vehicle crashed into Inova this afternoon, damaging a portion of the visitor’s entrance.

The crash occurred around 1:40 p.m. The scanner said “no patient care was needed” at the immediate scene with the hospital handling the driver involved in the crash.

An engineer from the City of Alexandria was dispatched to assess the state of the structure after the crash.

Firefighters at the Inova Crash left the scene to go to a car fire nearby at the intersection of I-395 and Seminary Road. There were no injuries in the car fire, but traffic is currently blocked at the overpass as of 2:45 p.m.
