Alexandria police arrested a man after he allegedly crashed his car into multiple vehicles and and got into a foot chase with police.
The incident occurred on Thanksgiving (Nov. 24) at around 2:30 p.m. in the 500 block of N. Quaker Lane, according to a search warrant affidavit recently released at the city’s courthouse..
Police were called multiple times about a gray sedan swerving in and out of lanes with “significant front-end damage,” police reported in the search warrant affidavit. “Other callers described the vehicle as ‘missing a wheel and driving on its rims.'”
Police tried to pull the sedan over, but the suspect allegedly got out of the car and fled on foot. He was arrested a short time later in the 600 block of President Ford Lane.
The suspect was transported to the hospital after his arrest. He was charged with failing to stop at the scene of an accident and driving without a license. He was released that same day on a $1,000 unsecured bond and goes to court on Jan. 27.

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!
The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!
