Super Bowl LX in Alexandria: 12 places to watch and find game day specials

There are plenty of spots in Alexandria to watch this weekend’s Super Bowl LX as the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots brawl it out.

The teams face off at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday in Santa Clara, Calif., at Levi’s Stadium, and Grammy Award-winning artist Bad Bunny performs at halftime. Here are 12 local spots that have publicized watch parties, events and menu specials — and how to get a free, sober ride home.

Alexandria Bier Garden

Alexandria Bier Garden’s watch party kicks off at 6:30 p.m., offering full-sound viewing for the game and halftime show, specials on food and drink and private room reservations. 710 King Street

Aslin Beer Co. 

Aslin Beer Co. is hosting its own Puppy Bowl pregame with adoptable dogs from noon to 4:30 p.m. through a partnership with Lucky Dog Animal Rescue. 847 S. Pickett Street

Augie’s Mussel House and Beer Garden 

City Councilman John Taylor Chapman “and some surprise VIP guests” are planning a watch party fundraiser at Augie’s on the second floor. Tickets include “a mouthwatering buffet, 2 adult drink tickets, and unlimited soft drinks,” according to a description. There will also be giveaways, activities and a game of “TV Commercial Bingo.” 1106 King Street 

Chadwick’s

Chadwick’s is hosting a watch party with “unlimited game day bites” like chili, wings and chicken tenders for $20. The party starts at 5 p.m. 203 Strand Street

Hops N Shine 

Hops N Shine is hosting a watch party with free entry at 5 p.m. “Settle in for an evening of football, familiar faces, and the kind of game-day energy that makes Sundays better,” a description reads. 3410 Mount Vernon Avenue

Joe Theismann’s Restaurant 

Joe Theismann’s Restaurant is showing the game on its big screens, promising the “best burgers [and] best wings.” Table reservations are encouraged. 1800A Diagonal Road

Junction Bistro, Bar & Bakery

Game day dine-in specials include loaded tots with cheddar jack cheese and pecan-smoked bacon, chorizo or pork nachos, brioche sliders, street tacos and Alabama white barbecue chicken wings. 1508 Mount Vernon Avenue

Laporta’s Restaurant and Jazz Lounge

Laporta’s will show the game and offer Super Bowl specials, including $5 draft pints, chili dogs, spicy Cajun black bean chili and homemade cornbread. 1600 Duke Street

Murphy’s Grand Irish Pub 

Murphy’s wants to “pack the house” with Patriots fans on Sunday. The pub is offering specials all night and plans to give away a 55-inch television at halftime. “Pats fans — this is our year,” the pub said online. 713 King Street

Northside 10 

Northside 10 is offering a variety of “Super Sunday” carryout specials with ribs, wings, sliders, sides and more. Packages start at $60 for a group of two to three people. 10 E. Glebe Road

O’Shaughnessy’s Pub & Stage Door Deli

The pub and restaurant is hosting a watch party as well as regular karaoke at 9 p.m. 1324 King Street

Taqueria Picoso 

Taqueria Picoso is hosting a watch party and an after party with a DJ. Alcohol and food packages are $65 per person and come with unlimited tacos, chips and salsa and elotes. Doors open at 4:30 p.m., and kids eat free. 1472 N. Beauregard Street 

SoberRide Lyft rides

Free rides will be available from 8 p.m. Sunday through 4 a.m. Monday, courtesy of the Washington Regional Alcohol Program’s SoberRide initiative. The program offers the rides during holidays and special occasions in an effort to prevent drunk driving. According to WRAP:

During this eight-hour period, area residents ages 21 and older celebrating with alcohol may download the Lyft app to their phones then enter the SoberRide® code in the app’s ‘Payment’ tab (under ‘Add Lyft Pass’ option) to receive their no-cost (up to $15) safe transportation home.
