Alexandria is calling on artists, makers and small businesses to apply for vendor spots at PatCon 2026, the city’s grassroots anime festival.
Vendor registration is open now through Jan. 23 for the festival, which is happening from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Feb. 7 at the Patrick Henry Recreation Center at 4653 Taney Avenue. The annual celebration is hosted by the recreation center’s Anime Society and is free to attend.
The festival is looking for vendors hoping to “reach passionate fans, highlight your creations, and build meaningful community relationships.” Potential items could include handmade crafts and collectibles, apparel or food and drink.
Last year’s event drew more than 200 attendees to participate in hands-on crafts, anime screenings, workshops and other activities.
“PatCon is a grassroots, youth-powered festival where fans of all ages explore cosplay, kawaii creations, gaming, workshops, and everything otaku,” the city said in an announcement. “PatCon is powered by passionate organizers and shaped with direct involvement from Alexandria’s youth, who are encouraged to help plan and lead.”
“Early bird” vendors who submit applications by Friday, Jan. 9 will be notified by Jan. 16 and pay a $50 fee, while those who apply afterward will receive word by Jan. 30 and pay a $75 fee.
