Morning Notes for November 24, 2025

On This Day in Alexandria History — “This week in November 1955 saw some interesting weather fluctuations at Alexandria’s Potomac Yard, where weather statistics were recorded at the time. Within a span of just a few days, the temperature ranged from a hot and humid 77 degrees, to a bitter cold of only 11 degrees, topped off by a one inch snowfall! This temperature range was one of the widest ever recorded in the city.” [Historic Alexandria]

Warner and Tim Kaine (both D-VA) joined every Senate Democrat in introducing the Restoring Food Security for American Families and Farmers Act of 2025 … ‘It is unconscionable that congressional Republicans voted in July to fund tax breaks for the wealthiest Americans by cutting SNAP, taking assistance away from millions of seniors, veterans, and working families even as it gets harder and harder for them to afford groceries,’ said the senators.” [Sen. Tim Kaine]
