Races for governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general and members of the House of Delegates are all on the ballot in Alexandria tomorrow.
The city’s voters are also poised to re-elect incumbent Commonwealth’s Attorney Bryan Porter and Sheriff Sean Casey, both of whom are running unopposed.
As of yesterday (Sunday), 29,611 Alexandria residents had cast early votes in-person and through the mail, according to the Virginia Public Access Project.
That represents about 30% of the city’s registered voters and places the early voting count well above the 25,475 early votes counted during the November 2021 election.
“That does show quite an increase,” Angie Maniglia-Turner, Alexandria’s Director of Elections, told ALXnow. “Last [November] 2021, we had about a 60% turnout with our active registered voters, so we have a history of a very interested electorate — but we’ll see what the voters decide to do tomorrow.”
Polls are open from 6 a.m.-7 p.m. tomorrow. Here’s a look at what’s on the ballot, where to vote and what is closed in Alexandria for Election Day.
Where to vote
Alexandria voters can confirm their polling place using the Virginia Department of Elections’ Citizen Portal webpage.
The city is split into 32 precincts, each with polling locations in various government buildings, schools and places of worship.

Voters who typically go to George Mason Elementary School for polling should note the spot’s relocation to Trinity Church at 2911 Cameron Mills Road, in light of the school’s demolition.

Same-day registration is available
Virginia residents who missed the Oct. 24 voter registration deadline may cast provisional ballots at their respective polling locations under the state’s same-day voter registration guidelines.
These votes are not processed by voting machines, “but rather are subject to approval by the local electoral board prior to the ballot being counted,” according to the state.
Receiving assistance to vote
Residents age 65 and older with disabilities can request assistance to vote on Election Day at their polling place’s curbside. Voters should call 703-746-4050 to notify election officials of their arrival time, or send a representative into the polling place to coordinate upon arrival.
Voters can also bring a family member or friend to their polling place or receive assistance from an election official at their precinct. More details are available on the City of Alexandria’s elections webpage.
Bring identification
Voters in Virginia are required to show identification. Acceptable forms of ID include a Virginia driver’s license, a valid U.S. passport, U.S. Military ID, and a utility bill, government check, paycheck or bank statement from the past 12 months containing the voter’s name and address.
