Virginia Tech has opened registration for its 2025 K-12 Summer Camps, offering Alexandria-area students hands-on experiences in robotics, flight dynamics, and data science at the university’s Academic Building One on Potomac Avenue. The camps, running throughout July and early August, provide age-appropriate programming for elementary through high school students with a focus on engineering and technology education.

The program lineup includes free robotics limb engineering for younger students, drone dynamics workshops for middle schoolers, and advanced data and sensor technology courses for high school participants. Elementary programs, such as “Science of Flight” and “Data Detectives: Explore Tech in Action,” run for four to five days, while middle and high school offerings extend to full-week intensive sessions. All activities are taught by Virginia Tech faculty, staff, and graduate students, with meals provided for full-day programs and snacks for half-day sessions.

Virginia Tech has made the camps accessible through need-based scholarships available through the registration portal.

Parents interested in enrolling their children can find complete program details and register at dcarea.vt.edu/k12/camps.html.
