It’s a busy spring Saturday in Alexandria. Let’s take a look at what’s happening out there.

Old Town is gearing up for its Spring Fling block party, kicking off at 10 a.m. It’s an excellent chance for locals to get together and enjoy community fun.

Shop from more than two dozen local makers at a fun, family-friendly (and pet-friendly) spring sip-and-shop event at Port City Brewing Co. The Spring Makers Market runs from noon to 5 p.m. today.

There’s plenty more happening around town, too. Lost Boy Cider is hosting Bingo for Breast Cancer at 1 p.m., while Good Shepherd Lutheran Church is starting an Inova Blood Drive at the same time.

Art lovers have options as well. The 4th Annual Alexandria Springtime Art Festival is taking place at John Carlyle Square, and the Lee-Fendall House Museum & Garden is putting on a Wine & Art Night.

Job seekers should check out the Federal Worker Job Fair, organized by the city and Congressman Beyer. CareerCon offers students a chance to explore career paths and potentially snag some of the $4,000 in scholarships up for grabs.

Carlyle House Historic Park is getting in on the action with preservation tours and a Family Fun Day focused on garden activities.

Throughout the day, you’ll also find farmers’ markets, workshops, and live music performances scattered throughout various venues in Alexandria.
