JUST IN: Man assaulted and robbed of shoes on DASH Bus in Alexandria’s West End

Three men are in custody after allegedly assaulting a man and stealing his shoes on a DASH bus this afternoon (Tuesday) in Alexandria’s West End.

The Alexandria Police Department confirmed that three adult males were arrested in the incident. A DASH bus driver called in a fight in the bus between multiple males at around 2:20 p.m. in the 2500 block of N. Van Dorn Street.

The victim suffered a non-life-threatening injury and refused medical treatment.

The three suspects allegedly fled the scene on foot and were arrested less than a mile away in the 4000 block of Ellicott Street. They were charged with assault by mob and robbery, according to APD.

An APD spokesperson told ALXnow that the department will soon release the suspects’ names, ages, and cities of residence.

APD posted the following note on social media regarding the incident:

There is a significant presence of APD officers in the 4000 block of Ellicott Street as they conclude a robbery investigation. Three adult suspects have been apprehended.
