Winter Weather Advisory issued for Alexandria as snow flurries start to fall

Snow is starting to fall around Alexandria and the National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a winter weather advisory.

The advisory is in effect until 11 a.m. on Thursday. This snow is likely to be significantly lighter than previous winter storms, with no more than one inch of snow accumulation expected.

Even so, the NWS warned of slippery road conditions and hazardous conditions that could impact the Thursday morning commute.

The forecast said snow is likely this afternoon and tomorrow (Thursday) before 1 p.m. Temperatures are then expected to start climbing into the high 50s next week.
