Yunnan by Potomac, an acclaimed Chinese noodle restaurant formerly located in the Montgomery Center, is reopening tomorrow in Arlington’s nearby Pentagon City neighborhood.
The restaurant was one of the local businesses displaced by the redevelopment plans for the Montgomery Center. Yunnan by Potomac was one of the last hangers on at the development, closing earlier this month. The restaurant first opened in 2019 and, in 2022, ranked 42nd in Yelp’s Top 100 U.S. Restaurants.
The restaurant is led by chef and owner Shao Bruce and offers cuisine from the Yunnan region of southwest China like mixian, “a slippery, light and almost fluffy rice noodle,” served with broths, flavorful sauces and braised meats.
The grant reopening at 721 15th Street S. is scheduled for tomorrow (Wednesday).
Yunnan by Potomac’s dining room will be open from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. and 5-10 p.m., Monday through Sunday. The cocktail bar is open 4-10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 4-11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
