Notes: Popular Old Town North noodle spot headed to Arlington

Yunnan By Potomac, a noodle shop at 814 N. Fairfax Street that was named one of the 100 best restaurants in the country on Yelp, is heading up to Arlington thanks to the planned redevelopment of the Montgomery Center.

The restaurant is planning to open in the new Milton building along 15th Street S. in Pentagon City by March 2024, owner Shao Bruce told ARLnow.

Yunnan By Potomac specializes in Mixian, a braised meat and broth noodle dish from southwest China. The restaurant opened in Alexandria in 2019 and the owner said the current location will remain open until March 2024.

The noodle restaurant is one of several thriving businesses in the Montgomery Center that are being dislocated, including Wheel Nuts, Seichou Karate and A La Lucia. The new development will include 327 residential units and 25,273 square feet of ground-floor retail.
