WUSA9 reported that the driver and passengers in the suspected stolen vehicle pursuit and crash Monday night were all juveniles and some remain in critical conditions.

Monday night, Virginia State Police (VSP) assisted Alexandria Police with the stop of a suspected stolen vehicle, a Hyundai Elantra, near Duke and S. Van Dorn streets around 11 p.m.

The driver refused to stop, officials said, and during the pursuit the driver allegedly rammed the trooper’s vehicle, causing the VSP car to crash into a power pole.

Alexandria and Fairfax police did not give chase, but VSP pursued at speeds near 125 mph. The suspected stolen vehicle hit two other vehicles before crashing. The driver of one of the vehicles was treated at a nearby hospital for minor injuries.

WUSA9 said four the driver and passengers in the suspected stolen vehicle are in the hospital after the crash and three of them are still in critical condition. Their exact ages were not released.

A stolen firearm was also recovered from the vehicle and additional charges are pending, according to police.
