Months of commentary, debates, campaign ads and arguing with your family at gatherings and it’s all come to this: it’s Election Day in Alexandria.

For those not sure where to vote, there’s an interactive map at the City of Alexandria website showing polling locations and here’s some information on what form of ID to bring with you.

The talk of the town is mostly the presidential race, but closer to home there’s the Senate race between Democratic incumbent Tim Kaine and Republican Hung Cao.

In Alexandria, Alyia Gaskins is running unopposed for mayor after securing the Democratic nomination in June.

Democratic City Council candidates are incumbents Canek Aguirre, Sarah Bagley, John Taylor Chapman and Kirk McPike, along with School Board members Abdel Elnoubi and Jacinta Greene. They’re running against Republican Celianna Gunderson and Independents Mason Butler and Roy Byrd.

With recognition that the election is likely to be what’s at the forefront of most people’s mind today, that’s what most of today’s coverage is likely to focus on. See you at the polls!
