Alexandria Transportation and Environmental Services (T&ES) is hosting a stream cleanup event for Holmes Run later this month.

The stream cleanup event is scheduled to meet at the Charles Beatley Library (5005 Duke Street) on Saturday, Oct. 12, from 9-11 a.m.

Gloves, bags and grabbers will be provided to volunteers.

Portions of Holmes Run remain closed after flooding in 2018 and 2019. After a series of frustrating delays, the project is scheduled to be completed by winter 2026 — eight years after the initial flooding damage.
