Notes: Pedestrian seriously injured after being struck by driver on Duke Street

The Alexandria Police Department said a driver struck a pedestrian around 6:14 a.m. at the intersection of Duke Street and Roberts Lane near Old Town.

Scanner traffic said a 25 year old female was struck and left unable to move her legs. APD Communications Manager Tracy Walker said the pedestrian sustained serious injuries and was transported to a hospital.

The driver remained on the scene.

Two lanes of westbound Duke Street were closed after the crash, though they reopened around 8:15 a.m.
