Notes: Alexandria Democrats rally around Kamala Harris for President

Days after Alexandria’s elected leaders were divided over whether or not President Joe Biden should drop out of the race, many have coalesced around support for Kamala Harris after Biden’s decision this weekend.

Senator Mark Warner, who was one of the Democrats who was reportedly pushing for Biden to drop out,

Warner was joined by Sen. Tim Kaine and Rep. Don Beyer in endorsing Harris swiftly after the announcement.

While local elected officials had been a little more reticent to weigh in on whether or not Biden should drop out, Mayor Justin Wilson and City Council member Kirk McPike both tweeted their support for Harris.
