New residential project unveiled for near Eisenhower Metro Station

Plans to build a new residential condominium building at the east end of Eisenhower Avenue are headed to the city review process this month.

The Paradigm Development Company is planning on building a 12-story, 150,300 square-foot multi-unit residential building, tentatively called Block 20 East Condominiums.

According to the application, the building would “measure 150,300 gross square feet in size and have 110 dwelling units, 15 of which would be junior one-bedroom units, 62 one-bedroom, 29 two-bedroom, two two-bedroom with dens, and two three-bedroom units.”

The new building is part of a spate of new development at the east end of Eisenhower, next to the Parc  Meridian Apartment building and Carlyle Mills Apartments (where, fun ALXnow lore, this reporter used to live).

The staff analysis called the proposal “largely successful.”

“Staff believes that the proposed building design is largely consistent with the review criteria,” a report said, along with a few proposed modifications.

The project is scheduled for review at the Carlyle-Eisenhower East Design Review Board on Thursday, May 16.
