Italian restaurant A La Lucia (315 Madison Street) was going to close by the end of the year, but Patch reported that the restaurant is pushing that closing back to spring 2024.

The restaurant said on Facebook that:

We are pleased to announce, we will remain open and serving our loyal community until the spring of 2024, we appreciate your continued support.

The popular Italian restaurant is one of several tenants at the Montgomery Center searching for a new home while the block is redeveloped. Some, like Crooked Beat Records, found new locations. Others, like Seichou Karate, are still searching.

While Montgomery Center businesses have been told multiple times over the last year that redevelopment is imminent, that timeline has repeatedly been pushed back, with the Art League saying earlier this year their lease at the Montgomery Center was extended to July 1, 2024.

Owner Mehran Nayeri told ALXnow that he and his wife are planning to retire from the restaurant business when they close.
