Del Ray snagged a spot on USA Today’s top ten Halloween parades in the country.

Among heavy hitters like New York City’s Village Halloween Parade and Louisiana’s Krewe of Boo!, Del Ray’s annual Halloween Parade was ranked as one of the best in the country.

According to USA Today:

Since 1996, this Alexandria, Virginia, neighborhood has hosted one of the most fun Halloween celebrations in the region. The Del Ray Halloween Parade welcomes anyone who wants to march in a costume, adults, kids, and pets alike.

Awards are given to the best pet and stroller costumes, and for the best decorated house and business in what has become a very competitive contest. The whole town, plus many visiting spectators, come out to join the fun.

The 27th Del Ray Halloween Parade is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 29. The parade starts at 2 p.m. at Mount Vernon Avenue and E. Bellefonte Avenue and ends with live music and prizes at the Mount Vernon Recreation Center athletic fields.
