Don’t worry about getting your yoga mat wet, because this weekend’s Well Ray Festival in Del Ray has been rescheduled due to rain, according to event organizers.

The National Weather Service forecasts an 80% chance of rain and possibly a thunderstorm on Saturday.

Consequently, the eighth annual festival dedicated to health and wellness was supposed to be held on Saturday, but has been moved to Saturday, June 29.

“There are so many different things that I think people can get introduced to that maybe they’re not already thinking of,” said Del Ray Business Association President Lauren Fisher. “Our hope is to expose people to a variety of preventative ways in which they can support themselves.”

The outdoor event is headlined by 40 local wellness and holistic health practitioners offering the following:

  • Therapeutic massages
  • Acupuncture
  • Physical therapy consultations
  • Chiropractic assessments
  • Nutritional counseling
  • Blood pressure screenings
  • Meditation
  • Wellness coaching
  • Energy work
  • Runner’s workshop
  • 15 outdoor classes for kids and adults, including yoga, dance, high fitness, pilates and boxing

The Del Ray Business Association event will also feature a Mascot fitness challenge between the Zebra Press Zebra, Benny DiForza’s Pizza mascot, and the Turkey Trot Turkey.

Well Ray will be held in the Salvation Army, Wellness Junction, and Bellies & Babies Parking lot on the corner of Mt. Vernon and E Bellefonte Avenues.

Donations will also be collected for The Miracle League, which supports recreation and sports activities for kids with special needs.

The event is sponsored by the Jen Walker Team.
