Dining at Carlyle-area restaurant Sweet Fire Donna’s today can help benefit Carpenter’s Shelter, a refuge for Alexandrians experiencing homelessness.

From noon to 10 p.m. today (Wednesday), anyone dining at Sweet Fire Donna’s (510 John Carlyle Street) can mention Carpenter’s Shelter and 10% of the proceeds will go to the shelter.

A larger Carpenter’s Cook-Off event is scheduled for Oct. 29, at The Birchmere (3701 Mount Vernon Avenue). There, around 20 local restaurants will come together for a tasting event benefitting the shelter.
