🚨 You need to know

Ingrid Bynum, Principal at Patrick Henry K-8, has won Virginia’s Mrs. America title, NBC4 reported.

Bynum won the title back in June and is heading to the national competition later this month (August). Bynum had only entered one pageant prior to this but also won Principal of the Year back in 2016.

Bynum said she hopes to use her new title to help put a bigger spotlight on student literacy issues. Bynum told NBC4 that student literacy has suffered over the course of the pandemic and she wants to raise funds to get a book in the home of every student in her school.
