Poll: How Safe Do You Feel in Alexandria?

Alexandria is experiencing an uptick in violent crime, with police reporting incidents all over the city.

Today, ALXnow broke the story about a West End shootout that left at least two people injured and has so far yielded two arrests. There were also a number of violent crime events that occurred during late night hours over the weekend in Del Ray, as well as calls for shots fired in Old Town and the West End on Friday and Sunday evenings.

There was also a string of shootings in the Parker Gray area during the summer, and there was an increase in crime in the city after a significant portion of the police patrol force was sent home to telework in April and May.

This week, police announced they will release year-to-date Part I crime data and information regarding the multiple calls for shots fired in recent months.
