Homeowner Shot in Targeted Del Ray Home Invasion

A Del Ray man was shot in a home invasion early on Sunday morning, September 27.

“This was a targeted offense,” Alexandria Police spokesman Lt. Courtney Ballantine told ALXnow. “The victim was an adult male who was shot by the person who forced entry into his residence.”

The suspect forced entry into the home and demanded money from the victim. Nothing was taken and the victim suffered non-life threatening injuries after being shot once.

The incident occurred at around 2:15 a.m.

No suspect description was available and the suspect is not known to the victim, according to police.
