The Birchmere, “America’s legendary music hall”, has an impressive June 2025 calendar scheduled, featuring a mix of iconic performers spanning multiple genres and generations.
The month kicks off with Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Steve Earle performing a special solo acoustic show on June 3. Billed as “50 Years of Songs & Stories,” Earle will be joined by Zandi Holup for the 7:30 p.m. performance. Tickets are priced at $69.50 and $39.50.

Sanborn, who was 78, died after an extended battle with prostate cancer “with complications,” according to an announcement on his Facebook page. The announcement said the artist had maintained a regular touring schedule despite battling the cancer since 2018, and that he had dates schedules into next year.

Musical duo The Bacon Brothers, consisting of Michael and Kevin Bacon, are coming to the Birchmere Music Hall (3701 Mount Vernon Avenue) again this fall.
The two initial nights, Oct. 7 and 8, have already sold out. A third night on Monday, Oct. 9, was added and — as of 1 p.m. on Aug. 8 — tickets were still available.

It’s spring and the musical lineup at Arlandria’s The Birchmere (3701 Mount Vernon Avenue) is heating up.
Folk/bluegrass band The Wailin’ Jennys is headlining next month in two — unfortunately already sold out — shows on April 16 and 17.
Chris Issak, John Waters and Judy Collins are just a few of the dozens of famous artists who petitioned the Alexandria Planning Commission and City Council to approve The Birchmere‘s Special Use Permit request to keep up its flashy new 5-foot-by-2.5-foot digital sign along Mount Vernon Avenue in Arlandria.
The Planning Commission approved the request 7-0 on Tuesday, and it now goes to City Council. Planning Commission Chair Nathan Macek said that the letters with all of the supporting signatures would be “an excellent auction item.”
