(Updated at 5:45 p.m.) The city reported in an email that the missing man has been found safe and unharmed and has returned home.
A search for a 65-year-old man missing since June 29 has stretched into Alexandria. The city says that Muhammad Khan may have been in the area of Van Dorn Street and Edsall Road in the city’s West End on June 30.
Khan was reportedly last seen on June 29 at 10 p.m. in the 6000 block of Leewood Drive in Fairfax County, which is about two-and-a-half miles from Van Dorn Street and Edsall Road. He also likes to frequent restaurants, according to a city news release.
“He is considered endangered due to mental and/or physical health concerns,” according to the release. “Mr. Khan is 6’0″, 190 pounds, with brown eyes and gray hair, last seen wearing a red checkered button-up shirt, orange pants and sandals.”
Anyone who sees Khan is asked to call or text 911.

(Updated at 11:30 p.m.) The missing man has been found, Alexandria police say.
The Alexandria Police Department are looking for a missing 67-year-old man who was last seen in the area of Sanger Avenue and Essex Court in the city’s West End.
Police received a call before 5 p.m. from the family of Karim Baig, who left his home to go for a walk and did not return.
Baig was wearing dark gray pants and a light gray shirt. The area in which he was last seen is near the Winkler Botanical Preserve and Interstate 395.

Update on 3/3/20 — The missing man has been found, Alexandria police say.
Earlier: Alexandria police and Virginia State Police have issued a statewide Senior Alert for a missing Alexandria man.
Booker Smalley, 82, was last seen on the 800 block of N. Fairfax Street, police say.
He’s considered a critical missing person due to cognitive impairments.
“This disappearance poses a credible threat to his health and safety,” according to Virginia State Police.

The Alexandria Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating Booker Thomas Smalley, a 82 year old black male. Mr. Smalley was last seen in the 800 block of North Fairfax Street wearing a grey zip-up hooded sweatshirt and black athletic pants.
