There has been another COVID-19 fatality in Alexandria, as the death toll from the virus now stands at 48. There were also two new reported cases, which is the smallest daily increase since March, according to the Virginia Department of Health.
The latest fatality was a woman in her 60s. The death is the first since June 9, when two coronavirus-related fatalities were reported.
