Alexandria Police say that the recent death of an adult male in the Landmark Area on Sunday morning (April 25) does not appear to be suspicious in nature.
Police found an adult male dead after “an apparent fall” in the 300 block of Yoakum Parkway at around 6 a.m., according to an APD tweet. The area where the incident occurred is full of apartment buildings between Edsall Road and Stevenson Avenue.
“It did not appear to be suspicious in nature,” APD Senior Public Information Officer Amanda Paga told ALXnow. “It remains an active investigation. The ME (medical examiner) will determine the cause and manner of death.”
The man’s age and identity were not released.
NOTIFICATION:: APD is conducting a sudden death investigation in the 300 block of Yoakum Pkwy. Preliminary information: an adult male was discovered deceased from an apparent fall just after 6am. Investigators are on scene. Medical Examiner was notified. Updates as needed.

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!
The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!
