More than a dozen shops and salons will team up to offer specials in Alexandria’s first-ever beauty crawl.
The Old Town Beauty Crawl will run Friday, Sept. 25 to Sunday, Sep. 27 at participating businesses in Old Town. Shops and salons specializing in cosmetics, fragrance, skincare, haircare or beauty treatments will offer promotions and prizes throughout the three-day weekend.
Beauty crawl participants will get a crawl map stamped at each participating business they visit — no purchase necessary. Those collecting five or more stamps will get limited-edition Beauty Crawl merchandise when they turn in the crawl map at Arielle Shoshana (313 Cameron Street).
Shoppers also have the chance to win the grand prize — a selection of products, services and gift cards from participating businesses. They receive one raffle entry when their completed crawl map is turned in at Arielle Shoshana. The grand prize winner will be randomly chosen and be announced on Sept. 28. If the winner does not respond to an email notification within 24 hours, a new winner will be selected.
Participating businesses include Arielle Shoshana, Anthropologie, Bellacara, Citrus Club Cosmetics, Drybar, Heyday, JoyLife Spa, Moxie Hair Studio, Nothing in Between Studio, Salon deZen, Sephora, Stylists at North, Velvet Wax and Beauty and Yeksenia Santos Cosmetics Tattoo.
The lead organizer of the crawl is perfume boutique Arielle Shoshana, which opened in January. The business relocated to Old Town after 10 years at the Mosaic District in Fairfax County.
“We’ve been bowled over by the welcome we’ve received from Old Town’s small business community,” founder Arielle Weinberg told ALXnow. “We wanted to highlight all of the incredible beauty institutions we’re lucky enough to be able to call neighbors!”
Weinberg said the Beauty Crawl was inspired by the regional bookstore crawl that Friends To Lovers and Old Town Books were a part of.
