More details have been released regarding the former D.C. police officer facing more than two dozen felony sexual assault charges in Alexandria.
Timothy Valentin, 30, of Fort Washington, Md., goes to court in August on charges of rape by force, rape by incapacitation and abduction with intent to defile after a sexual assault that allegedly occurred in the overnight hours between Saturday, April 12, and Sunday, April 13, 2025.
The victim, a D.C. resident, reported to the Metropolitan Police Department that she met Valentin on the dating app Hinge, had dinner and then drinks at a popular bar on King Street in Old Town. She said that around 10:30 p.m., she was “drugged” and “raped” by Valentin, according to a recently released search warrant affidavit.
The victim told MPD that she blacked out shortly after leaving the bar and later woke up to find the suspect sexually assaulting her in the back seat of his vehicle. She said she pushed Valentin off of her several times before he forced her to perform oral sex on him, according to the affidavit.
APD recovered video surveillance from the bar showing Valentin putting a white powdery substance into the victim’s drink.
The video “showed Mr. Valentin surreptitiously adding an unknown powdery substance into (the victim’s) alcoholic beverage while she had stepped away from their table to use the restroom,” according to the affidavit. “Mr. Valentin advised the parties engaged in ‘consensual’ sexual intercourse acts in the rear of his vehicle while stopped at a location in Maryland, and then transporting (the victim) in his vehicle back to her apartment in Washington DC during the early morning hours of April 13, 2025.”
MPD provided APD with a report on the incident four months later, on Aug. 15, 2025, according to the affidavit.
A toxicology report later showed the victim had ingested the sedative Bromazolam, a Schedule I controlled substance.
Valentin, who was an MPD officer from 2017 to 2022, also admitted to recording parts of sex acts with the victim on his phone, according to the affidavit. APD found multiple videos of additional alleged sexual offenses, “showing Mr. Valentin within his vehicle performing sexual acts on multiple different women who displayed signs of incapacitation and/or were incapacitated,” according to the affidavit.
APD said the videos on Valentin’s phone date back to May 2024 and continue through November 2025, just before his arrest. Authorities are currently aware of at least four survivors in Alexandria and six in Prince George’s County, according to APD.
“In addition, hundreds of chats between Mr. Valentin and various women can be found on his cell phone from both Hinge, Bumble and additional dating applications,” according to the affidavit. “Mr. Valentin’s device also contains numerous communications with other individuals discussing the women, their assaults, and information about the victims.”
While incarcerated in the Alexandria jail, Valentin also allegedly attempted to have someone retrieve evidence from his laptop computer before it was turned over to his attorneys.
According to the affidavit, the following is a communication from Valentin to his contact:
“Okay thx man, its small window to get this dome [sic] so I can be out. I nees [sic] you to be at my crib with flash drive at 4pm sharp so my mother will let you in. I’ll be on the phone with either u or her, and give u pin to sign on. Mute the computer, go to gmail.co! Valentin’s attorney turned his client’s laptop over to police Feb. 17, according to the affidavit.
