Adoptable Pet of the Week: Two-year-old Lorelai, who takes her stuffed animals on walks

Lorelai is looking for a new home.

The 67-pound, two-year-old pup with a reddish-brown coat also likes to take her stuffed animals on walks, according to the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria. Lorelai came to AWLA’s shelter at 4101 Eisenhower Avenue as a stray.

“She can be a little shy at first, but it doesn’t take long at all before her loving nature shines through,” an AWLA volunteer told ALXnow. “Once Lorelai gets comfortable, she will put her paws on your lap and show you just how affectionate she can be.”

As far as temperament goes, Lorelai is described as “past the puppy stage, but still active enough to engage in outdoor activities with her person.” She would love to join a human or two on their morning walks.

“If you are looking for a loving companion, [Lorelai] may just be a great fit for your home,” the volunteer said. “Contact the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria today!”

Lorelai can be visited during the shelter’s regular adoption hours:

  • Noon to 7 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday
  • Noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday
