Road Closures on N. Beauregard Street — “North Beauregard Street between Sanger Avenue and North Morgan Street will be closed intermittently between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. on weekdays from Monday, April 20 through Tuesday, April 28 to accommodate the delivery of equipment and materials associated with Holmes Run Trail repairs.” [Alexandria T&ES]

Disparity Between East and West End Middle Schools — “A contributing factor to the gap in rankings between the two schools is PTA funding. According to the PTA President for GW, Lebaron Reid, the PTA budget is about 45,000 dollars, compared to Hammond’s roughly 8,000 dollars. The difference between these two budgets depends on the ability for each school to fundraise. Private donors make up the majority of PTA funding, in which Hammond and GW have diverse contributing populations.” [Theogony]

Region’s Economic Picture — “D.C.-area businesses and consumers are feeling even gloomier about the state of the local economy than they were a few months ago, as the war in Iran and fears around artificial intelligence have only added to locals’ anxiety.
