Winning $1M lottery ticket sold at Del Ray convenience store

One Virginia Lottery player is starting off the new year with a winning $1 million ticket purchased in Del Ray.

The ticket was one of five $1 million winners in the lottery’s New Year’s Millionaire Raffle, announced yesterday (Thursday). It was purchased at the 7-Eleven at 2108 Mount Vernon Avenue and beat one in 125,000 odds to win.

Four other $1 million winning tickets were purchased at the following locations.

  • Burke: Giant Food, 6011 Burke Center Parkway
  • Bealeton: 7-Eleven, 11022 Marsh Road
  • Madison: Food Lion, 46 Madison Plaza Drive
  • Hopewell: Food Lion, 5209 Plaza Drive

Another seven tickets won $100,000 each, and 1,000 tickets won $500 in this week’s games, which benefit public schools statewide. More than $901 million was raised in 2025 for K-12 education, making up approximately 10% of the state’s K-12 education budget, according to the Virginia Lottery.

The $1 million win comes shortly after a Powerball ticket worth $50,000 was purchased at an Arlandria convenience store last month.
