Undercover police arrest Woodbridge teen for drug and firearm possession in Alexandria

The Alexandria Police Department arrested a Woodbridge teenager in Landmark this month after he was allegedly found in possession of fentanyl, more than seven ounces of marijuana, a loaded handgun and nearly $1,500 in cash.

The 17-year-old suspect agreed to meet an undercover APD officer on Dec. 11 to sell five fentanyl pills in a parking lot at the 5700 block of Edsall Road, after he had advertised selling drugs on Instagram. His arrest followed an undercover operation that began in October, according to a recently released search warrant affidavit.

When the suspect arrived at the parking lot at around 3:15 p.m., officers conducted a search and recovered a Glock 27 handgun “with a round in the chamber and a magazine having a capacity of 22 rounds,” according to the affidavit, as well as “460 fentanyl pills in varying bags, 200.2 grams of marijuana, 6.2 grams of cocaine, and $880.96.”

Police also found $558 in cash and 10.5 grams of marijuana on the front passenger floorboard of the suspect’s vehicle and a digital measuring scale in the side door.

Officers arrested the suspect for possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of a firearm while in possession of certain drugs to distribute, possession of a firearm by a minor and possession of a high-capacity firearm, according to the affidavit.
