One of five winning $50,000 Powerball tickets announced yesterday (Wednesday) was purchased at an Alexandria convenience store.
The winning ticket was purchased at the Tiger Market and Bakery at 3903 Mount Vernon Avenue in Arlandria, according to the Virginia Lottery.
Yesterday’s white ball numbers were 23, 33, 53, 62 and 66, with red Powerball number 17. To win the $50,000, ticket holders must match four out of the five white balls and the Powerball number.
Yesterday’s five winning tickets were bought at the following locations.
- Tiger Market and Bakery, 3903 Mount Vernon Avenue, Alexandria
- Food Lion, 4092 Lankford Highway, Exmore
- Safeway, 3043 Nutley Street, Fairfax
- Fas Mart, 4690 Pouncey Tract Road, Glen Allen
- Smoketown Shell, 15550 Neabsco Mills Road, Woodbridge
More than 87,000 Virginia Lottery tickets were bought on Wednesday throughout the Commonwealth. Powerball drawings are held on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday, and the jackpot for Saturday’s (Dec. 20) drawing is $1.5 billion.
While the odds of winning any prize are one in 25, the odds of matching all six numbers are one in 292,201,338.
