Driver strikes pedestrian with vehicle on Executive Avenue

Alexandria police are investigating after a driver struck a pedestrian with a vehicle on Executive Avenue Wednesday evening.

The incident occurred in the 3800 block of Executive Avenue, prompting a significant police response to the scene. According to the Alexandria Police Department, the driver remained at the location after the crash.

As of 7:32 p.m., Executive Avenue had been closed between Mount Vernon Avenue and 3809 Executive Avenue while authorities investigate and clear the scene.

Police have not yet released information about the pedestrian’s condition or additional details about the circumstances surrounding the incident.

WJLA reports that a child was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
