Alexandria police searching for man who allegedly struck roommate in head with machete

The Alexandria Police Department is looking for a 28-year-old man for allegedly striking his roommate in the head with a machete in an apartment in the city’s West End.

The suspect, Kory Anding, got into an argument with the victim in an apartment in the 5400 block of N. Morgan Street on Dec. 23. The suspect allegedly struck the victim with a machete at around 11 p.m., and the victim suffered a serious but non-life threatening injury, according to APD.

The victim’s girlfriend called 911 after the incident, according to the police scanner. Additionally, a K9 officer found a machete with blood on it near the scene at around 12 a.m., according to the police scanner.

APD released the following statement after the incident:

APD is seeking an adult male suspect, Kory Anding a resident of Alexandria, for the December 23 aggravated malicious wounding of another adult male inside an apartment in the 5400 block of N. Morgan. The two men reside at the apartment and were involved in a domestic dispute when the suspect struck the victim with a machete. The victim suffered a serious but non-life-threatening wound.

Anyone who may have witnessed this incident or have any information on Kory Anding’s whereabouts is asked to call 911.
