More details have emerged after three men were charged with a robbery and abduction in the West End.
Anthony Henriquez-Prudencio, 19, Adalberto Santamaria, 19, and Manfredy Aguilar-Ruiz, 22, of Washington, D.C. were formally indicted for robbery and abduction on April 1 and go to a grand jury trial on August 23 — six months after the date of the incident. They have been held without bond in the William G. Truesdale Adult Detention Center since their arrest on February 23.
The incident occurred at around 7:30 a.m. on February 23 at an apartment in the 51oo block of Fairbanks Avenue, which is near Seminary Road and N. Beauregard Street. The victim went to the apartment to meet with an “associate”, who demanded $100, but the victim said he didn’t have money. He was then told to call his boss to bring the money, according to a search warrant affidavit.
The victim told police that he called his employer for the money, and that he was punched while making the call, and that the suspects filmed the assault on a phone.
The victim’s employer arrived shortly thereafter, and one of the suspects went outside to speak with him about the $100, according to the warrant. The suspects then let the victim out of the apartment.
Once outside, the victim was allegedly restrained by two suspects, and the victim’s employer called out for him to run to him if he was in trouble. The victim reportedly ran to his employer, and then the group dispersed and the three suspects were arrested.
One of the suspects told police that the incident was a “mission.”

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!
The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!
What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
