Metaphysical shop Lumos Collective relocating to larger space in Old Town

A metaphysical shop and “spiritual apothecary” is reopening in an expanded location early next month in Old Town.

Lumos Collective is moving from its pop-up location at 106 N. St. Asaph Street and will hold grand opening festivities at the new location at 1511 King Street on Sept. 4 and 5. The shop sells candles, ritual oils, tarot and oracle cards, as well as supplies to cast spells and rituals. The business hosts Reiki training events, book swaps and artist markets, and a monthly virtual membership program for “Modern Witches, Mystics & Magic-Makers,” the company says on its website.

Jade Geary launched Lumos Collective from her home in 2022, and opened the pop-up last year on N. St. Asaph Street.

“Our St. Asaph shop was supposed to be temporary,” Geary said. We knew it was a chance to see what Lumos could become as a physical space. What we couldn’t have predicted was how quickly this community would grow around it. People didn’t just come to shop. They came to take classes, attend circles, meet local makers, learn, make friends, and spend time together. We realized we hadn’t just opened a store. We had created a gathering place.”

Geary said the expanded two-story space will allow for more programming, including “Tarot and Reiki services, classes, workshops, spiritual education, community gatherings, markets, and special events.”

“Staying in Old Town was incredibly important to us,” Geary said. “This community is part of Lumos now. Finding a space just a few blocks away where we could grow without leaving the neighborhood felt like exactly the next chapter we were looking for.”
