The deployment of autonomous sidewalk delivery robots is expanding further in Alexandria.
Serve Robotics announced today (Monday) that the Wonder food hall at 3615 Richmond Highway will offer robot deliveries. The New York City-based Wonder, which has been rapidly expanding in the D.C. region and beyond, opened the Potomac Yard location in January.
The food hall chain, founded in 2018 by billionaire entrepreneur and former Walmart executive Marc Lore, also completed an acquisition of Grubhub last year. Serve Robotics is also deploying delivery robots to participating restaurants through Grubhub in Chicago and Los Angeles.
“Our partnership with Serve brings autonomous delivery to Grubhub customers in Chicago, Los Angeles, and Alexandria, while also enabling robot delivery from Wonder’s Alexandria location,” said PJ Poykayil, the executive vice president of customer delivery operations at Wonder. “As we continue to grow, partnerships like this help us expand delivery options, improve efficiency and create a more seamless mealtime experience.”
Serve Robotics had launched its autonomous delivery robotics in Alexandria in December 2025. A Serve Robotics spokesperson previously told ALXnow the city incorporated the delivery platform into the 311 system and has access to fleet information. The delivery robots serve areas like Northeast Alexandria/Westover, Del Ray, Potomac Yard and Taylor Run.
In addition to the new Grubhub partnership, Serve Robotics also announced Monday that it is offering deliveries through DoorDash in D.C.’s downtown and Dupont Circle neighborhoods.
