Judge Blocks Redistricting Election Result — A Tazewell Circuit Court judge blocked certification of Tuesday’s redistricting referendum, which voters approved. Attorney General Jay Jones vowed to appeal the order. [WJLA]

Alexandria Precinct Results on Redistricting Amendment — Precinct-level results are available for the redistricting question, which 78.89% of Alexandria voters cast a ballot in favor of. [Alexandria Living Magazine]

National Governors Association Meeting Held in Alexandria — “The National Governors Association (NGA) this week convened leadership across public and private sectors to share approaches to fast-tracking broadband connectivity to support workforce and community development in states and territories. Virginia Gov. Abigail Spanberger addressed state broadband leaders, federal officials, internet service providers and other tech leaders during the event in Alexandria, Va, where officials from 34 states and territories shared best practices in closing the digital divide and implementing programs such as the Broadband Equity, Access and Deployment (BEAD) program, a federal grant program that aims to connect every American to high-speed internet.” [National Governors Association]

Next Traffic and Parking Board Meeting — “The Traffic and Parking Board will hold its next public hearing on Monday, April 27 at 7 p.m. Docket materials have been posted for the upcoming meeting. At the public hearing, members of the public can weigh in on adding on-street parking to the north side of the 1100, 1200, and 1400 blocks of Duke Street and expanding an Overnight Parking District to include Gresham Place.” [City of Alexandria]

Spanberger Holds Ceremonial Signing of Maternal Health Bills — “Building on prior progress in addressing maternal health care disparities and increasing support for new parents, Gov. Abigail Spanberger signed a slate of bills that have been part of the ongoing “Momnibus” package on Wednesday. The move came just ahead of an annual Virginia March for Life rally around Capitol Square, where more than a thousand exhibited their support for anti-abortion legislation.” [Virginia Mercury]

Drug Take Back Day Scheduled — The City of Alexandria encouraged residents to turn in unwanted prescription and over-the-counter drugs, including those from veterinarians during National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. Several collection sites will be staffed Saturday, April 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. [City of Alexandria]
