Two rollover crashes draw Alexandria police and fire response over the weekend

The Alexandria Police and Fire Departments responded to two rollover crashes over the weekend, according to radio dispatches.

No injuries were reported in both crashes, which occurred early Friday night (April 3) on W. Glebe Road in Arlandria and Sunday morning (April 5) on Richmond Highway near the Potomac Yard Shopping Center.

Around 9 p.m. Friday, the police and fire departments responded to a two-vehicle crash in the 1000 block of W. Glebe Road that left a white Toyota on its side. The driver of the second vehicle, a silver pickup truck, stayed at the scene. The crash briefly shut down all traffic at W. Glebe Road at the intersection with Valley Drive down to the Arlington County line.

Around 10:45 a.m. Sunday, a gray SUV struck a tree and rolled over near the intersection of Richmond Highway (Route 1) and E. Reed Avenue. The driver was able to crawl out of his vehicle and refused medical attention, according to AFD radio dispatches. The crash temporarily shut down southbound traffic on Richmond Highway at the intersection.
